We earn service fees — sometimes you pay them, sometimes Broadcom pays us to deliver on their paper, and we'll tell you which. What we never earn is margin on license volume, so renewing, consolidating or moving off VMware entirely pays us the same.

The differentiator is not the badge count — it is making these ecosystems work as one estate: a VMware private cloud, a Cisco fabric, Azure DR, a PostgreSQL data tier, and Kubernetes on top.
